Truck America Training sits on a 20-acre tract of land running roughly parallel to Interstate 65 on the east. On the west side lies a Shepherdsville, Kentucky, neighborhood, and the locals have apparently become used to the sight of big rigs rumbling to and fro carrying students and instructors out to highways for training practice.
PHOTO GALLERY: Photos from Week 3 of students, instructors and training property.
In the photo above, instructor Ed Stephens is waving to neighborhood youngsters who are waiting at a school bus stop at about 7:15 a.m. as Russell Durgasingh skippers his tractor-trailer on a test run.
We expect to be talking with Durgasingh as well as Teddy Flener Jr. today as we hit Day 13 of our CDL or Bust series. Students are going out to the Kentucky State Fairgrounds today to check out the CDL exam test course for the first time, so watch for more photos and video today. (UPDATE: Teddy Flener Jr. is out sick today; we hope to speak to Jason Horton instead.)
